Self-care and mental health resources for GPs and health practitioners
The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) is encouraging all GPs and health practitioners to take care of their own physical, mental, emotional and social health and seek support when required.
General practice is a rewarding and fulfilling career contributing to improving the lives of many people across Australia.
However, the RACGP recognises that the challenging nature of general practice can lead to high rates of stress, depression, anxiety and other mental health problems among doctors.
Resources and services are available to help GPs and health professionals to better manage stress at work, and to improve self-care, mental health and wellbeing.
