Perinatal depression and/or anxiety – telehealth service
Gidget Foundation Australia offers counselling for new and expecting parents who are experiencing perinatal depression and/or anxiety and are unable to have a face-to-face consultation.
Patients need a referral and a mental health care plan from their GP to use the service. They receive up to 10 free psychological counselling sessions via video call over a 12 month calendar year with a trained perinatal specialist.
A face to face service is available at Gidget House, Queanbeyan (co-located with Tresillian). The referral enables the sessions to be bulk billed through Medicare’s Better Access Initiative. Find out more here.
