In the Illawarra Shoalhaven, three out of four suicide deaths are men. Sporting clubs are often close knit communities, and are well placed to notice when someone is struggling – particularly amongst their players, coaching staff or committee members.

The Osteoporosis Refracture Prevention Service at Port Kembla Hospital provides services for patients located between Helensburgh and North Durras. Eligible patients must be 50 years or older with a minimal trauma fracture. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients must be 40 years or older with a minimal trauma fracture.

Youth Aware of Mental Health (YAM), an evidence-based mental health program for Year 9 students has now been rolled out to thousands of high school students across the Illawarra Shoalhaven, with 25 public, independent and Catholic high schools delivering the program.
