New Productivity Commission Inquiry into mental health - share your thoughts
The Morrison Government has established a Productivity Commission Inquiry into the role of mental health in the Australian economy and communities, looking at the best ways to support and improve national mental wellbeing.
The inquiry will examine the effect of mental health on people’s ability to participate in and prosper in the community and workplace, and the effects it has more generally on our economy and productivity.
It will also look at how governments across Australia, employers, professional and community groups in healthcare, education, employment, social services, housing and justice can contribute to improving mental health for people of all ages and cultural backgrounds.
The Productivity Commission plans to release an issues paper to guide people in preparing a submission. It sets out some of the issues and questions the Commission has identified as relevant at this early stage of the inquiry.
If you would like to share your thoughts, initial submissions are due by Friday 5 April 2019. You can submit here.
