Aboriginal health is a key priority for COORDINARE. We are guided by our Board, Clinical Councils, Community Advisory Committee, and 'Reflect' Reconciliation Action Plan to fund and deliver tailored health services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across the South Eastern NSW region.
More than 24,000 people identify as Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander in our region. Aboriginal peoples experience significantly poorer health outcomes than non-Aboriginal people and have done for decades . We believe there is a role for both Aboriginal community-controlled and mainstream services to work together to improve health outcomes, including social and emotional wellbeing, for Aboriginal peoples in South Eastern NSW.
Read our Aboriginal health statement for more information or download a copy of our Aboriginal health Report Card for 2018/19 to learn about some key improvements in Aboriginal health, led by local service providers and the community. You can also read our 'Reflect' Reconciliation Action Plan.
