Councillor Alfie Walker is a proud Wiradjuri & Yuin man of NSW. He has grown up and lived in Goulburn his whole life. He was the first Aboriginal person elected to Goulburn Mulwaree Council in 2012 and was elected Deputy Mayor from 2016-2018.
He is one of the longest-serving Board Members of Pejar Local Aboriginal Land Council and has served on the board in various roles such as Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson and Officer bearer continually since 2004 to 2021.
He was appointed Australian Youth Ambassador to the UNDP World Indigenous Network Program in New York in 2013 and is passionate about Aboriginal Civic Leadership, Corporate Governance and Student Leadership in schools. Alfie is the current First Nations Adviser for Charles Sturt University at the NSW Police Academy.
