Aboriginal Facilitator and Educator - Cultural safety training

Cultural safety and workforce development in primary healthcare mainstream services

EOI-2526-13
Applications close 9 December 2025
Background

COORDINARE is inviting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Facilitators and or Educators to apply for funding to facilitate cultural education sessions for primary healthcare mainstream providers to promote cultural safety.

Across Australia, according to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, 54% of Aboriginal people access their primary healthcare through mainstream services. As such, the cultural safety of mainstream services has a direct impact on the health outcomes of Aboriginal community members.

The purpose of this funding is to support mainstream service providers to improve the care they provide to Aboriginal community members through cultural safety training and education.

This funding opportunity includes up to $40,000 ex GST to facilitate cultural education sessions across South Eastern NSW in the 2026 financial year.

This is an 'open expression of interest' which means that Aboriginal facilitators or cultural educators who live on or have cultural and community connections to the Yuin Nation, Ngarigo, Walgalu areas are eligible to apply.
