Healthy Cities Australia - Community walking programs
The 5×5 and 3×3 Community Walking Programs are free, non‑competitive walking events designed to help people get active and connect with others.
Participants walk a 5 km route once a week for 5 weeks or a 3 km route once a week for 3 weeks, in a friendly, supportive environment suitable for all fitness levels.
Walking outdoors offers proven benefits including reduced stress, improved mood, better sleep and lower blood pressure, while also helping build healthy habits and reduce social isolation.
Programs are run across the Illawarra, including Bellambi, Wollongong, Lake Illawarra, Shell Cove, Kiama and Nowra and have recently expanded to include locations across Southern NSW including Queanbeyan and Goulburn.
