BreastScreen NSW mobile van visiting Yass

12 January 2023

Practices in Yass are asked to encourage women to book a free breast screen while the mobile clinic is situated at the Yass Showground from 16 January – 24 February.

A 20-minute breast screen every two years could save your patient’s life. BreastScreen NSW actively targets asymptomatic women aged 50 to 74 years for a free screening mammogram every 2 years. Women over the age of 40 are also eligible to attend the service. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women are encouraged to screen from age 40.

Your patients are more likely to have a breast screen if you recommend it to them, so please encourage them to screen locally while the mobile clinic is in town.

Patients, or your reception staff, can book appointments online, through the Breastscreen website or by calling 13 20 50.

You can find a brochure explaining how BreastScreen NSW works with GPs here.
