Goulburn Urgent Care Clinic ceases operations
27 June 2025
The NSW Health-funded Goulburn Urgent Care Service, which has been operating at Marima Medical Clinic since August 2024, will cease operations on 30 June 2025 in line with their current contract arrangements.
This decision reflects ongoing workforce and operational challenges, alongside broader system factors. Despite best efforts, it is no longer feasible to continue delivering urgent care services at the clinic in a way that meets the standards of safety, sustainability, and compliance for the community.
Attracting and retaining the required healthcare staff, particularly to rural and remote areas, remains a long-standing challenge for regional and rural areas.
We acknowledge the significant impact this closure will have on the Goulburn community and express our deepest gratitude to the clinical and administrative staff who have worked tirelessly under increasingly difficult conditions.
Leading up to the closure, reduced hours of operation for the Urgent Care Service may be necessary.
Marima Medical Clinic will remain open and continue to operate as a general practice six days a week from 8:30am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday and Saturday from 9:00am to 1:00pm.
Alternative options:
- Community members living in Goulburn requiring non-urgent medical care are encouraged to contact their local doctor, pharmacist or call healthdirect on 1800 022 222 for free medical advice and support.
- For a medical emergency, people should call 000 or attend the emergency department (ED) at Goulburn Base Hospital.
COORDINARE – South Eastern NSW PHN is continuing to work closely with NSW Health and local providers to support access to health care services for the region going forward.
