Do you have the skills and expertise to join COORDINARE's Board and Chair our Community Advisory Committee, to help drive improvements in health care accessibility and outcomes for our region?
COORDINARE – South Eastern NSW PHN is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from interested persons who wish to be considered for appointment as Chair of COORDINARE’s Illawarra Shoalhaven and Southern NSW Community Advisory Committees. The successful applicant will also be appointed to COORDINARE’s Board of Directors.
About COORDINARE's Community Advisory Committees
The role of the COORDINARE's Community Advisory Committees (CAC) is to provide advice to COORDINARE's Board, and to the organisation’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on a range of strategic opportunities for targeted engagement and communication with consumers and communities across South Eastern NSW, relating to improving health care accessibility and outcomes for communities in our region.
The CAC provide strategic advice and guidance to COORDINARE's Board and CEO on matters such as:
- Providing considered approaches to determining and responding to health system issues and inefficiencies within local communities, from a consumer perspective.
- Recommending effective approaches to ensure consumer/community consultation and feedback is available and fit-for purpose throughout the commissioning cycle.
- Identifying approaches to effectively capture, measure, and understand the person’s experiences and then apply this information to influence quality and system improvement.
- Considering strategies to assist consumer navigation of the health system through for example, health literacy initiatives, patient self-management approaches, and/or system input for care coordination more broadly.
Selection criteria
The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:
- Professional experience in health or health related fields such as aged care, mental health, allied health etc. and can demonstrate their robust understanding of the healthcare landscape;
- Expertise in consumer and community engagement, and advocacy;
- Experience in driving community and consumer engagement practices, including the ability to engage with diverse community networks;
- Strong leadership and facilitation skills are necessary to effectively chair meetings and ensure productive discussions. Additionally the chair will facilitate a clear flow of information between the committees and the Board;
Experience in strategic planning and policy development is beneficial; - A deep understanding of local health needs and the ability to align committee discussions with these needs is important. This includes knowledge of the socio-economic profiles and specific health challenges faced by the community;
- The ability to collaborate with various stakeholders, both internal and external to the PHN.
What is the commitment
Appointment is for a three-year term and the position is remunerated. The Committee operate within agreed Terms of Reference and are guided by a Consumer Engagement Framework.
