Medical Practice Assistants!

Following our first CoP session which covered data quality, we are continuing to explore the role of MPAs in chronic disease management.

In the upcoming session we will look at actual examples of chronic disease management in general practice and the part played by the MPA, by sharing case studies from local practices.

The first case study will present a Moruya practice’s diabetes management workflow process and the MPA’s clinical and administrative tasks associated with this.  This will be followed by examples of chronic disease workflows from practices at Basin View and Ulladulla.

There will be time for questions and discussion.  This is a safe space and we encourage you to ask questions and share your thoughts.

Presenters:

  • Megan Jay - MPA in Moruya

  • Jessica Wheat - MPA in Basin View

  • Liz Grist - MPA in Ulladulla

The CoP is presented by MPAs for MPAs. promote networking, the sharing of ideas and examples of best practice, and contributes to knowledge and job satisfaction.

We know that it can be hard for MPAs to get a break during work hours to take advantage of networking and professional development opportunities, so the CoP will be held after hours, from 6pm – 7.00pm.

To ensure that the new MPA CoP continues and thrives we need MPA support, so please join us on the 14th. You are welcome to invite your Practice Manager and Practice Nurse to hear how other practices utilize their MPA.
