The Mental Health First Aid Training provides an overview of mental illnesses, risk factors, prevalence and impact.

This is a free two-day training course from 9-4pm on 30-31 May 2024, facilitated by Nina Sawyer.

It includes information about depression, psychosis, substance use problems, anxiety and bipolar disorders and appropriate first aid responses.

Participants learn about the signs and symptoms of mental health problems; how to recognise and respond to an emerging and worsening mental health problem and the interventions and supports available.

Once you have completed the training you are a Mental Health First Aider (MHFAider®).

Target audience: Free training open to all staff that work in a primary care setting (GPs, Practice Nurses, Practice Managers, Practice Admin) within SE NSW PHN or one of our commissioned providers.
