The Osteoporosis Refracture Prevention Service at Port Kembla Hospital provides services for patients located between Helensburgh and North Durras. Eligible patients must be 50 years or older with a minimal trauma fracture. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients must be 40 years or older with a minimal trauma fracture.

The Federal Minister for Health has announced that the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) subsidy for HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) will be available from 1 April. This follows an earlier recommendation of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee that PrEP should be PBS-listed for HIV prevention.
